From Amish Roots to Listing Million-Dollar Homes

12/27/2025

In this episode, I talk to my longtime friend, Mary Zook. Listen as she shares her journey from growing up Mennonite with Amish roots (her dad was shunned by the Pennsylvania Amish community and Pennsylvania Dutch was her first language) to becoming a Dean at a Bible College, to helping launch a worship ministry, and then, in 2019, becoming a Dallas luxury realtor who lists multi-million-dollar homes.

We talk about Amish shunning, finding real faith after rejecting religion, how worship songs actually make money, the wild pivot into high-end real estate, and the one simple rule she follows before every big life change.

A must-listen if you love Amish stories, redemption testimonies, worship music history, or luxury real estate.

From Heroin Addict to Street Preacher

In this episode, I talk to Pastor Scott Hinkle, a Jewish man from the Jersey Shore who became a full-blown heroin addict, left the state to avoid prison, and then, in one ordinary day in rural Kansas, had his life completely changed by Jesus.

Listen as Scott tells the raw details of how a rock-musician-turned-evangelist bought him a hamburger and a Coke, opened a Bible, and watched God instantly set a hopeless junkie free by the power of the Gospel. Within 90 minutes of getting saved, Scott was already on the street telling total strangers, “I don’t have to do drugs anymore!”

For the last 45+ years, this self-confessed introvert has become one of America’s most fearless street preachers, leading massive outreaches on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, taking teams into the darkest corners of cities worldwide, and proving that light shines brightest where it’s darkest.

Indie Filmmaking: From Script to Screen

12/8/2025

In this episode, I talk to Texas indie filmmaker, Jeff Hamm, director of the Christmas comedy, "Porch Pirates," the upcoming sports comedy, "Pickleball," and the Christmas horror film, "Santa’s List."

Listen as this former Christian rock frontman and church creative director shares how he went from leading worship and shooting silly youth-group videos to winning Best Director and Best Film at the prestigious 168 Film Festival (while wearing jeans and a red plaid shirt), launching his company Red Plaid Films, and now making feature films.

We go deep on the real indie grind: 40+ script drafts, self-distribution nightmares, shooting a Christmas horror movie in Texas summer heat, why originality is dying in big studios, his honest take on AI in low-budget VFX, and the miracle it takes to actually finish and release a movie in today’s world.

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it really takes to go from script to screen as an independent filmmaker, this is the conversation.

Ex-Biker Club Member to Prison Preacher

In this episode, I talk to Dr. Johnny Moffitt, legendary prison minister, founder of a life-changing boys ranch, and a man who has preached the Gospel in over 2,000 prisons across 35 U.S. states and 27 countries worldwide. Listen as this former motorcycle club officer shares his explosive 1971 salvation during the Jesus Movement, how he ran to the altar with a .38 pistol in his boot, got baptized in the Holy Spirit and called to preach in five minutes, and then spent the next 47+ years taking the hope of Jesus into places like San Quentin, Attica, and prisons all over the world.

Hear the wild stories of starting a multi-million-dollar children’s ranch with no money, moving to Georgia with $100 and a pregnant wife, and watching God drop Texas prison recidivism from 76% to 16% through faith-based programs, marriage seminars, and other programs. At 53 years of marriage and still going strong, Dr. Johnny reveals the raw secrets to lasting love and how to hear God’s voice when He simply says, “Do the next thing I put in front of you.”

A must-listen for anyone who loves radical redemption stories, the Jesus Movement, prison ministry, marriage restoration, or proof that God still calls the most unlikely people to do the impossible!
